Athletic Club star picks up injury a week out from Arsenal showdown | OneFootball

All associated with La Liga outfit Athletic Club were on Sunday forced into a collective state of panic.

This came after a headline member of the club’s attacking ranks suffered an injury setback whilst on international duty.

The player in question? Nico Williams.

Wide-man Nico was for his part in from the off yesterday evening, as Spain put six past Turkey in a World Cup qualifier.

Late in the first-half, however, the 23-year-old pulled up with what appeared to be a groin problem, before limping gingerly from the field of play.

A round of medical tests now await, to ascertain the extent of Nico’s issue.

Just a week out from a Champions League opening day showdown with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, as well as a La Liga clash with Deportivo Alavés this weekend, though, Athletic Club have seen the status of their star winger thrown firmly up in the air.
