Athletico ‘in talks’ with Corinthians over Cacá return | OneFootball

Athletico are exploring a return for defender Cacá from Corinthians, with initial talks between the boards of Furacão and Timão under way, Rádio TMC reports.

The 26-year-old played for Athletico in 2023 on loan from Tokushima Vortis of Japan, then joined Corinthians the following year on the same terms.

Corinthians completed a permanent deal at the start of 2025, tying him to the club until the end of 2028.

Last season he made 31 appearances and scored two goals. He featured only 7 times between August and December after losing his place.

Athletico have made a centre-back signing a priority in the market. The board have already added four players, right-back Gilberto from Palmeiras, midfielders Jadson (ex-Juventude) and Juan Portilla (ex-Talleres- ARG), and Alejandro García (ex-Once Caldas-COL).
