La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have on Wednesday night been dealt a blow on the personnel front.
Diego Simeone’s troops, of course, are currently locked in action.
Fresh off a 1-1 Madrid Derby stalemate at the weekend, Atlético have turned their attentions back towards matters on the continent, in a Champions League clash with Portuguese heavyweights Benfica.
As things stand with 45 minutes on the clock in Lisbon, the Rojiblancos find themselves a goal behind, owing to Muhammed Kerem Aktürkoğlu’s opener inside 15 minutes.
And yet, as alluded to above, the scoreline at the Estádio da Luz marks far from Atléti’s only source of concern on Wednesday.
In addition, the capital outfit have suffered a setback on the injury front.
Just beyond the half-hour mark, Marcos Llorente pulled up suddenly, with a muscular problem which ultimately proved enough to see the Spaniard forced off.
Nahuel Molina was introduced in place of Llorente, with it now remaining to be seen whether or not the 29-year-old is facing up to any sort of extended spell on the sidelines.
