In a surprising development, it has come to light through SPORT that Atletico Madrid have entered the race to sign Marcus Rashford, a player heavily linked with a move to Barcelona.
The English forward, currently at Manchester United, appears to be on the verge of leaving the club after a series of strained relationships, especially with his manager Ruben Amorim.
Rashford’s intentions to depart have become clear, especially as he has been left out of two consecutive matchday squads.
Previously, Barcelona was seen as the most likely destination for Rashford, but now Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in securing his services.
The Spanish club had shown interest in the player in the past, and they could now seize the opportunity presented by Manchester United’s ongoing difficulties.

Interestingly, it must be noted that Deigo Simeone’s side has been linked to Rashford even though their current offensive line is already quite solid.
Meanwhile, it must be noted that Rashford’s move to Barcelona seems uncertain at the moment. While the player has expressed a desire to play in La Liga, Barcelona have not yet shown any strong interest in signing him.
This leaves the door open for Atletico Madrid to potentially become the most viable option for Rashford if he is keen on a move to Spain.
Furthermore, other clubs are also keeping an eye on the situation. In fact, reports suggest that Bayern Munich and Fenerbahçe are among the teams that have shown interest in the forward.
However, Rashford appears to be focused on continuing his career at the highest level in Europe, rejecting offers from the Saudi Pro League for now.
Atletico Madrid’s interest in Rashford could add another layer of complexity, which is why the coming weeks could prove crucial in determining where his future lies, but for now, it seems his options in Spain are widening.
