Atlético Madrid have beaten Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals to reach the semi-finals, sharpening an already testing run-in.
According to Superdeporte, the semi-final ties fall between late April and early May, adding to a demanding calendar for Diego Pablo Simeone's side.
Between the two legs, Atlético will travel to the Estadio de Mestalla to face Valencia CF, a historically tricky assignment that will test their resilience in the European race.
Only days ago, in a similar context, Atlético lost at Sevilla FC at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán after a mass rotation. Dani Martínez, Julio Díaz, Javier Bonar, Obed Vargas, Thiago Almada, Rayane Belaid, Baena and Alexander Sørloth featured, with only Juan Musso retaining his place from the decisive second leg against Barcelona.
There is little respite either, with the Copa del Rey final against Real Sociedad due in a matter of days, a spell that will test the depth and ambition of Atlético's project.
