Atlético Madrid add Arsenal star to defender transfer shortlist | OneFootball

The brass at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have added a third Premier League star to their shortlist, amid an ongoing search for reinforcements at the back.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes at the Metropolitano.

It is of course common knowledge at this point that Atlético are on the lookout for fresh blood at left-back with a view to next season.

At the very top of the Rojiblancos’ wishlist is Liverpool standout Andy Robertson, with Aston Villa’s Lucas Digne having recently been earmarked as a backup target.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word doing the rounds in Spain on Thursday is anything to go by, then yet another Premier League-based left-back is in the sights of Diego Simeone and co, too.

As per a report from MD:

‘Another option is Oleksandr Zinchenko, an Arsenal player who Atlético Madrid already made a move for in the last winter transfer window. According to reports from Italy and England, AC Milan held talks with the English side last week, during which they were informed that Atlético Madrid are also interested in the 28-year-old.’

Arsenal, for their part, are understood to be seeking a fee in the region of €15 million for Zinchenko.
