Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been left out of Marseille’s squad for Sunday’s Ligue 1 matchday 33 trip to Le Havre, kick-off 21:00, after a training-centre incident, according to RMC Sport.
The squad spent four nights at La Commanderie, from Monday until Friday midday, in an extended camp ordered after last weekend’s 3-0 defeat at Nantes.
On Thursday night several players caused significant commotion in multiple rooms at the training centre, leaving widespread disorder. The episode resembled a holiday-camp party, with beds overturned.
Aubameyang, 36, is said to have emptied a fire extinguisher in the room of Bob Tahri, the former French athlete who now works on the club’s sporting staff. The decision was taken on Friday evening.
With two matches remaining, Marseille are seventh and their chances of reaching the next Champions League are now almost nil. The club could even miss European competition altogether next season.
