Auxerre’s Clément Akpa attracting Everton and Wolves interest | OneFootball

AJ Auxerre have surpassed all expectations and with five games to go in Ligue 1, are already assured of safety. There have been some stand-out performers for L’AJA. Hamed Traoré has garnered significant acclaim for his output, as has Gaëtan Perrin, whilst Kévin Danois has also been impressive in midfield. Clément Akpa (23) has also stood out and Foot Mercato understands that he is attracting interest from the Premier League and the Bundesliga.

Akpa’s performances for Auxerre recently earned him his first cap for the Ivory Coast international team and he could be about to earn a summer transfer too. A mainstay in Christophe Pélissier’s back line, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Everton, Eintracht Frankfurt, Hoffenheim, and VfB Stuttgart are all interested in the centre-back.

Auxerre, ideally, would be keen to retain Akpa but they don’t have the financial means to resist a good offer, which may well arrive on the table given the quantity of interested parties. An asking price has not yet been set.
