Manchester United defender Ayden Heaven leads his teammates in an impressive statistical category.

Positive season

Heaven enjoyed a solid 2025/26 season with United, helping the club to finish in third place and secure Champions League football after a two-year absence.

United had a mixed start to the campaign, but the tide turned after Michael Carrick was appointed to replace the sacked Ruben Amorim.

Carrick oversaw a brilliant run, ultimately earning himself the job on a permanent basis. Under Carrick, Heaven made six appearances, including three consecutive starts in April against Chelsea, Brentford and Liverpool.

Called upon for three games during United’s defensive crisis, Heaven slotted seamlessly into the side and produced brilliant displays that drew rave reviews. In total, he managed 17 appearances throughout the campaign.

It represents a significant leap in his development, especially considering he joined United from Arsenal in January last year with little to no experience at senior level.

Now, Statman Dave has revealed that Heaven finished top among all United players in one key stat.

According to Statman Dave, “Ayden Heaven was the only Manchester United player to win 70% or more of their ground duels in the Premier League last season.”

“A huge player for the present and the future.”

The next step for Heaven is to take on more responsibility. Together with Leny Yoro, the duo has the potential to form United’s central defensive pairing for years to come.

United signed him for just £1 million, and he already looks to be a brilliant acquisition that could go down as some of the best business in football history.

For the time being, Heaven’s focus will be on recharging his batteries before pre-season gets underway with United.
