Ayrton Costa to miss Boca’s final group match against Universidad Católica

Boca centre-back Ayrton Costa will miss the final Copa Libertadores group match against Universidad Católica at La Bombonera after a booking triggered a suspension.

According to LaNumer12.com.ar, he will serve a one-match ban under CONMEBOL regulations.

He was shown yellow in the 72nd minute of an intense contest against Cruzeiro, taking his tally in the competition to three.

Costa was one of three Boca players on a booking tightrope, alongside Leandro Paredes and Lautaro Blanco.

With Costa unavailable, Sifón Úbeda must adjust the defence for Thursday 28 May at the Estadio Alberto J. Armando, kick-off 21:30. Marco Pellegrino is the leading candidate to partner Lautaro Di Lollo. Malcom Braida could continue at right back and Lautaro Blanco on the left.
