Bap rules out Flamengo move for Vini Jr for now | OneFootball

Lucas Paquetá’s return to Flamengo has revived talk of a homecoming for Vinícius Júnior, but president Luiz Eduardo Baptista, known as Bap, says it is not on the table for now.

“Vini is not an option for Flamengo,” he told Diario AS.

“If there were a transfer involving Vinícius Júnior, the salary would be far higher than what we are considering for Paquetá. That possibility does not exist yet.”

“Yes, but Vinícius Júnior wants to stay in Europe. It is a different moment, whether for his wish or the finances, that is for fans to imagine.”

“That is the reality. Vinícius is always welcome. We want Vini, but he is still beyond Flamengo’s reach, not yet.”

Vini Jr has a Real Madrid deal until June 2027 and is in talks over an extension. From January next year he can sign a pre-contract with any club, including Flamengo. Under Álvaro Arbeloa in 2025/26, he is seeking top form, and this year has 33 appearances, eight goals and 11 assists.
