La Liga giants Barcelona have on Thursday announced an altogether welcome piece of news on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that Joan García is not facing up to an incoming spell on the sidelines.
Goalkeeper Joan for his part set alarm bells sounding in Catalunya’s capital on Wednesday evening.
En route to Barcelona sending Newcastle United packing from the Champions League in comprehensive fashion, the Spaniard was forced into a premature departure from proceedings.
After making a late save, Joan went to ground, before limping off with what appeared to be a muscular problem.
Fears of an upcoming spell out of action therefore quickly spread for the former Espanyol man.
As alluded to above, however, following a round of medical tests, Hansi Flick and his staff have breathed a collective sigh of relief.
As per a statement across Barcelona’s social media platforms on Thursday:
‘The medical tests carried out this morning on 𝐉𝐨𝐚𝐧 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐚 have ruled out any injury. The player will be available to Hansi Flick for the next match.’
