Barcelona attacking target with 19 G/A favouring a move to Arsenal – report | OneFootball

Barcelona plan to invest in a new forward in the summer transfer window later this year and have identified multiple players as potential options.

One of the names that features on the Catalans’ summer wishlist is that of RB Leipzig and Slovenai centre-forward Benjamin Sesko.

The 21-year-old towering striker is said to be greatly admired by Barça sporting director Deco and one of his agents recently visited the Catalan capital, although there is no confirmation of a meeting.

More competition

However, according to Caught Offside, Sesko is also a man in demand in the Premier League as Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea all have the striker on their agenda for the summer.

Arsenal have been long-time admirers of the 21-year-old striker who has 15 goals and four assists to his name this season from 30 matches in all competitions. The Gunners tried to make a move for him in the winter but nothing came of it.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are said to be in constant talks with the centre-forward’s agent while Man United are also in the mix, having made enquiries for him in the summer.

Sesko prefers Arsenal

The competition from the Premier League could be a major concern for Barcelona, especially with the report stating that Sesko might favour a transfer to Arsenal if he decides to leave RB Leipzig.

Indeed, the 21-year-old is said to prefer the Gunners’ sporting project more, as he finds it ‘more attractive’.

As such, the north London giants have received encouragement from his entourage to make a significant offer in the summer, which they intend to do.

Such a scenario could complicate matters for Barcelona, although they have other players like Alexander Isak on their agenda.
