Barcelona consider including 19-year-old La Masia gem in Alessandro Bastoni deal | OneFootball

Although they still have some games left to play, the 2025-26 season has practically been wrapped up for FC Barcelona. They hold a 9-point lead over Real Madrid in La Liga with only 7 games left to play, while they have been eliminated from the UEFA Champions League and Copa del Rey.

As a result, the Blaugranes can now divert more of their attention towards planning for the next season. In fact, it seems they already have at least one clear target to obtain in the upcoming summer transfer window, i.e., the center-back Alessandro Bastoni.

However, any move for the Inter Milan centre back will not come cheap. The Italian club is believed to value Bastoni at around €60 million. As a result, Barcelona are actively exploring creative formulas to reduce the cost of the operation.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Mundo Deportivo), one such proposal has already been put forward, involving academy graduate Hector Fort. The 19-year-old fullback, currently on loan at Elche, has been suggested as a potential makeweight in negotiations with Inter.

Fort is currently recovering from a shoulder injury, and while his long-term potential is well regarded within the club, it remains uncertain whether his profile would be enough to convince Inter to lower their demands. Much could depend on how highly the Italian side values young talent as part of their squad planning.

For Barcelona, though, the equation remains clear. Any major arrival will likely depend on departures or inventive deal structures. Including a promising academy player like Fort could be one such route, but whether it is enough to unlock a move for Bastoni remains to be seen.
