La Liga champions Barcelona are taking into serious consideration making a move for Bayern Munich star Harry Kane.
That’s according to The Guardian, who have confirmed that the Englishman is the Blaugrana’s ‘ideal’ Robert Lewandowski replacement.
Veteran frontman Lewandowski is as things stand primed to depart Catalunya’s capital in the summer of 2026, upon the expiration of his contract terms.
With the attacker set to turn 38 next August, Barcelona, as things stand, do not intend to offer him a new deal.
A new consistent source of goals will therefore be required in Hansi Flick’s squad.
And this is where the aforementioned Harry Kane enters the picture.
As per The Guardian, Bayern Munich standout Kane is the Camp Nou board’s ‘first-choice’ centre-forward transfer target for next season.
So much so that they ‘may well be prepared’ to activate the £57 million release clause in the 32-year-old’s contract at the Allianz Arena.
Kane is for his part in the midst of a spectacular opening to the new campaign, to the tune of 23 goals across all competitions.
