Earlier today, reports emerged claiming that FC Barcelona left-back Gerard Martin is attracting interest from Wolves in England.
The Premier League club are on the cusp of completing the sale of Rayan Ait-Nouri to Manchester City and have seemingly identified Barça’s Martin, who had his first-team breakthrough this season, as a potential replacement.
Building on that, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona will consider bringing in Alejandro Grimaldo as a replacement if Gerard Martin leaves for Wolves this summer.
Barça are not focusing on a new full-back as a priority but would be open to adding more quality to the position. And there will be a vacancy in the squad if Martin decides to take off on the Premier League journey.
In that scenario, the reigning La Liga champions see former La Masia talent Grimaldo as a possible option to replace him at left-back.

Grimaldo has been quite regularly linked with a move back to Barcelona in recent years following the success he has achieved since leaving the club – first with Benfica and now at Bayer Leverkusen.
In fact, in a recent interview, the Spanish left-back even refused to close the doors on a future return to Barça, stating clearly that he has a lot of affection for the club.
“Barça is the team I’ve played for throughout my youth career and I have a lot of affection for them,” said Grimaldo.
The Catalans’ sporting director, Deco, has been keeping tabs on Grimaldo and in case Martin ends up securing a move away, a move for the former could become a possibility, although he might command a sizeable fee.
