La Liga giants Barcelona could snap up Azzedine Ounahi from Catalan rivals Girona for a surprisingly low fee. This comes amid the understanding that the latter’s relegation has left them in a tough spot with their midfield standout.

Ounahi has seen his name heavily linked with that of Barcelona in the Spanish media over the course of the last 48 hours.

With the Blaugrana having opened the door to potential reinforcements in the middle of the park following the long-term injury suffered by Frenkie de Jong, the gifted Moroccan has been tipped as a potential option.

Ounahi is fresh off a fine showing at the World Cup, providing a reminder of his stellar talents en route to a pair of goals across six appearances.

Considered a seamless fit in Hansi Flick’s free-flowing setup, Deco and co. could in turn launch an offensive for the 26-year-old over the days ahead. And if the latest word doing the rounds on Sunday is anything to go by, a deal could even be struck on the cheap…

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Following Girona’s relegation, the Moroccan midfielder could be available for around €10 million, a manageable expense (for Barcelona).’

Fellow La Liga outfit Real Betis are also understood to be keeping a close eye on Ounahi’s situation this summer.
