Barcelona director Deco meets with Chelsea striker’s agent | OneFootball

According to Jijantes (via SPORT), FC Barcelona sporting director Deco met with agent Ali Barat, from Epic Sports Agency, this morning at a hotel in the Catalan capital.

The meeting was brief and, according to sources present, it was more of a routine or protocol-based encounter.

A general meeting

As per the report, Barat, a well-known football agent across Europe, was already in Barcelona due to several meetings scheduled in recent days and took advantage of his time in the city to meet with Deco, with whom he has maintained a good relationship for quite some time.

In fact, whenever the agent visits Barcelona, he usually arranges some form of meeting with the Catalans’ sporting director to discuss the current market situation and exchange updates.

In any case, the meeting was not focused on any specific transfer operation. It was a short discussion intended to update various situations and potential market movements during the summer, at a particularly busy period for Barcelona’s sporting department.

However, any possibility involving the striker is considered extremely complicated, given his contract runs until 2023, and Barcelona have not made any enquiries about him.

The Blaugrana have already decided on the club’s main target for what is expected to be an intense summer: Joao Pedro, Jackson’s Chelsea teammate.

Deco has decided that the Chelsea striker possesses all the qualities needed to become Barcelona’s next signing and has also held talks with the Brazilian’s agent.
