Barcelona forward’s wife reaction on social media as Xavi overlooks player vs Girona | OneFootball

Vitor Roque has found it extremely hard to get game-time under Xavi Hernandez since arriving at Barcelona in the winter.

The 19-year-old striker has been constantly overlooked by the manager leading to intense speculations about the Brazilian potentially leaving on loan in the summer.

Oftentimes, when Barcelona are in need of goals in a game, Xavi has opted for other options ahead of Roque. And it was no different today against Girona.

With the Catalans trailing against their local rivals at Montilivi, Xavi refrained from bringing on Roque, and instead called upon the likes of Pedri, Raphinha, Ferran Torres, Joao Felix and even Oriol Romeu.

Naturally, the decision did not go down too well with Roque’s camp, with his wife taking to social media to express her surprise at the striker being overlooked.

Following an outburst of reactions on her post, Roque’s wife made another post on X, that read: “I post emojis and create a mess lol Hey, calm down guys!”

Roque has barely featured since joining from Athletico Paranaense in January, with Xavi chalking down his lack of minutes to the youngster’s adaptation to the club.

Given the situation and with Xavi continuing as manager for next season, it would not come as a surprise to see the 19-year-old leave on loan come summer.
