The exact duration of his time out is unknown, and the club see him as a doubt even for the opening UEFA Champions League clash of the season. What infuriated the club, however, was how poorly the Spanish national team managed Yamal’s situation.

Barcelona are furious

As confirmed in a recent report by Fabrizio Romano, the whole of Barcelona is internally are very angry and irritated by the Spanish national team because of the Lamine Yamal case.

After all, the entire situation was completely avoidable had La Roja and the management shown a little concern towards the player’s welfare, the player could have been free from his pain and available for selection.

Yet, Luis de La Fuente made the player play over seventy minutes in both of Spain’s games in the international break, despite Spain comfortably winning the games much earlier on both occasions.

Had the player been taken off earlier or rested for the team’s second game, his situation may well have been better, given that he would not have aggravated the lesion.

Hansi Flick also made his displeasure clear over the situation clear in his press conference where the manager spoke on how Yamal was given painkillers to feature for Spain with complete disregard for his well-being.

“He played for the national team despite discomfort. He played 75-78 minutes with discomfort and without training between matches. And that’s not looking after the players,” he said

“I think the Spanish national team has a great squad, the best players in the world, but they haven’t looked after their players and that’s news that saddens me.”

It remains to be seen how the youngster’s situation progresses in the coming weeks and when he will eventually return to complete training with Barcelona.
