The board at La Liga giants Barcelona have not yet made a final decision on Robert Lewandowski’s future with the club.

That’s according to Diario AS, who have on Tuesday provided a fresh insight into the situation.

Frontman Lewandowski, for his part, is due to see his contract terms with Barcelona expire in 2026.

The Pole recently turned 37, with widespread reports having in turn long assured that the plan of Deco and co. was to allow ‘Lewa’ to depart as a free agent.

But if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media this week is anything to go by, then the situation does not appear to be quite so black and white.

As per a report from AS:

‘His situation isn’t urgent, and no final decisions will be made until much later. If the club proposes that he stay, it will be because his performance has been optimal.’
