Barcelona ‘keeping an eye’ on progress of club’s former winger | OneFootball

The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona are keeping a watchful eye on the progress of Francisco Trincão at Sporting CP.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Saturday provided an insight into the situation.

Attacker Trincão, for his part, is in the midst of a superb start to the new campaign.

Finally looking back to his brilliant best on the books of Portuguese giants Sporting CP, the 24-year-old has directly contributed to 10 goals across 10 league appearances in 2024/25.

This includes a Liga Portugal-best haul of seven assists.

And such production, as alluded to above, has not gone at all unnoticed on the part of one of Trincão’s former clubs, in the form of Barcelona.

As part of the deal which sent their ex-winger to Sporting on a permanent basis in the summer of 2023, Barca secured for themselves both a buyback clause, and a sell-on clause.

And, as per Sport:

‘Barça are confident that Trincao’s progression will continue to rise so that Sporting can consider a transfer, from which they would get half of the profits.’
