Barcelona launch fundraising campaign to support those affected by Venezuela earthquake, donate €100,000 | OneFootball

Barcelona have announced a new humanitarian initiative in response to the devastating earthquake that struck Venezuela this week, with the club and the FC Barcelona Foundation moving to support relief efforts in the affected areas.

Through an official statement released via the club’s website and social media platforms, Barcelona confirmed the launch of an extraordinary fundraising campaign aimed at helping millions of people impacted by the disaster.

As part of the initiative, the FC Barcelona Foundation has pledged an initial donation of €100,000 to assist humanitarian organisations already operating on the ground in Venezuela.

FCB commits €100,000 to Venezuela relief efforts

The FC Barcelona Foundation will provide an immediate contribution of €100,000 as part of the club’s response to the humanitarian emergency unfolding in Venezuela.

The funding will be directed towards organisations that already work alongside the Barça Foundation and have experience delivering assistance during crises. 

These groups are expected to focus on emergency aid, child protection programmes, access to clean drinking water, food distribution, healthcare services, education initiatives and support for displaced families.

“In response to the humanitarian emergency caused by the earthquakes that have affected Venezuela, the FC Barcelona Foundation is launching an extraordinary fundraising campaign, with an initial contribution of €100,000,” read the official statement from the club.

Alongside its initial financial contribution, Barcelona are also encouraging supporters to become involved in the relief campaign.

Beginning on July 1, the club will implement a solidarity rounding mechanism at various points of sale across Barcelona’s facilities, allowing members, supporters and visitors to make small voluntary donations that will contribute towards humanitarian assistance in Venezuela.

The initiative is designed to involve the entire Barça community and provide supporters with a simple way to participate in the fundraising effort.

Barcelona hope the campaign can generate additional resources for organisations working directly in affected regions, helping expand access to essential services for families dealing with the aftermath of the earthquake.
