Former Barcelona forward Patrick Kluivert has shared his thoughts on why Kylian Mbappe is facing challenges at Real Madrid.

According to the legendary forward, the French superstar is still in the process of adjusting to his new environment. Having spent most of his career in France, moving to Spain, and playing in La Liga, which is highly competitive, takes time to fully adapt.

Kluivert was present at the ECA (European Club Association) Assembly held in Athens, where he was part of a group of football legends invited to the event.

During this occasion, he had a conversation with MARCA where he commented on Barcelona’s ongoing absence from the ECA, along with Real Madrid.

Both clubs remain associated with the Super League project after Juventus left. Despite this, Kluivert showed optimism, indicating that Barcelona and Madrid’s return to the ECA is just a matter of time, and it isn’t something to be overly concerned about.

In discussing Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid, Kluivert emphasized the importance of patience. Having played in France for most of his professional career, Mbappe now faces the challenge of adjusting to the demands of a new league.

“He needs to adapt. It’s not easy to spend an entire career in France and arrive in Spain where the League is very strong and it’s not easy to adapt,” said Kluivert.

La Liga is known for its high level of competition, and it’s not easy for players, even world-class talents, to seamlessly integrate into such a new environment.

Kluivert remains confident in Mbappe’s ability, describing him as one of the best players globally. With time, he believes Mbappe will eventually find his rhythm and make a significant impact on the team.

“He needs time but for me, he’s one of the best in the world. I’m sure he’ll adapt and make a difference,” he added.
