Barcelona icon Lionel Messi has this weekend spoken out on the likelihood of him heading into management, once his days on the pitch have come to a close.
Those with hopes of seeing the Argentine one day take his place in the dugout, however, need not get their hopes up.
The subject of Messi’s impending retirement has of course long proven a headline talking point across the world of football.
Now 37 years of age, and with every major trophy he ever sought out secured, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner is expected to announce his decision to hang up his boots in the not-so-distant future.
Speaking during an exchange with the media this weekend, the subject of his post-career plans was in turn put to Messi himself once more.
Specifically, the Inter Miami star was asked if he envisions a future in management.
Messi, however, in quotes gathered by Fabrizio Romano, was blunt in his response:
“I’m not planning to become a manager when I retire. This is not something I’m considering to do.”
