La Liga giants Barcelona have this week seen a long-time member of the club’s academy ranks depart on a permanent basis.
This comes amid confirmation that Joaquim ‘Quim’ Junyent has put pen to paper on terms with 2nd division outfit Almería.
Quim, for his part, is a 19-year-old midfielder, long considered one of the standout talents making their way through Barcelona’s famed La Masia.
Aware that a path to first-team minutes in Catalunya’s capital remains blocked by world-class talent the likes of Pedri and Frenkie de Jong, however, the Spaniard recently made the call to move on.
Quim, in turn, rejected a new Barcelona contract to instead enter free agency. And as alluded to above, this week, this call has paid immediate dividends for the youngster.
As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of La Liga 2 side Almería, Quim has joined the club on a contract all the way through the summer of 2032.
