Barcelona’s summer of change behind the scenes shows no sign of slowing down, with the club now confirming another significant departure from their first-team staff.
Just days after the change of role for head of physical training Julio Tous and two of his assistants were confirmed, it has emerged that first-team nutritionist Silvia Tremoleda is also stepping down from her role.
Unlike the recent reshuffle in the physical training department, the circumstances surrounding Tremoleda’s exit are entirely different, reports AS.

Tremoleda, the wife of renowned economist Xavier Sala i Martin, has decided to leave the first team for personal reasons, with the move not necessarily a decision imposed from above.
After five years serving as the first-team nutritionist, she has chosen to step away from her position.
Her replacement will be Mireia Porta Oliva, who currently serves as the head of nutrition for the women’s team, continuing a trend of talent being promoted from within the club’s structure.
Physical trainer Lucas del Campo, an expert in strength and conditioning, will also make the step up to join the first-team setup.

Del Campo will form part of the team led by German fitness expert Benjamin Kugel, who was appointed as the new head of the physical area following the departure of Julio Tous.
Under Kugel, the first-team physical preparation department will consist of four further members, with Pepe Conde, Milos Mallol and Andres Martin all remaining, joined now by Del Campo.
The changes form part of a broader restructuring of Barcelona’s backroom operations. The fitness coaches leaving the first team will be reassigned elsewhere within the club, rather than departing entirely.
Tous is set to take charge of a newly created performance and physical optimisation department, while his former assistants Rafa Maldonado and German Fernandez will move down to work with the reserve team.
