The transfer team at La Liga giants Barcelona are closely monitoring one potential free agent goalkeeper signing.

That’s according to Barca insider Toni Juanmartí of Diario Sport, who points towards Antonio Adán as the player in question.

The subject of reinforcements between the posts has of course dominated the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the day to date.

This comes amid widespread reports that the Barcelona brass are giving consideration to dipping into the free agent market for fresh blood.

After Marc-André ter Stegen was condemned to a long-term spell on the sidelines owing to a serious knee injury, Deco and co. were left with little choice but to seek out a potential replacement.

And, as alluded to above, amid this search, one name has come to the fore as a real option for the Blaugrana.

As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘One name on Barcelona’s radar is 37-year-old Antonio Adán.

Adán, who has previous experience of La Liga football with the likes of Real Madrid, Real Betis and Atlético Madrid, is currently unattached, after his contract with Sporting CP came to a close over the summer.

The experienced shot-stopper is currently training alone in an effort to maintain fitness, awaiting a call from a club interested in his services.

And such contact could yet be forthcoming, by way of the board at the aforementioned Barcelona.
