La Liga leaders Barcelona were on Thursday afforded a double boost on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that both Frenkie de Jong and Fermín López have returned to training alongside the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad.
Midfielders De Jong and Fermín were both forced to sit out this past Tuesday, as Barcelona put Atlético Madrid to the sword in a La Liga clash.
In the case of the former, as much came owing to a sudden bout of illness.
Attacking midfielder Fermín, meanwhile, was last week condemned to a spell on the sidelines through injury.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from Catalunya’s capital is anything to go by, then both appear to be closing on a return to the pitch.
As per a report from Diario Sport, De Jong and Fermín took part in elements of group training at the Ciutat Esportiva this morning.
In the case of the former, he therefore looks certain to be available to face Real Betis this weekend, whilst the latter’s chances of as much are improving by the day.
