Barcelona transfer news continues to be dominated by uncertainty surrounding Ferran Torres after Paris Saint-Germain emerged as serious admirers of the Spanish attacker.

The development has gathered momentum following the club’s pursuit of Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi, a move that could influence Hansi Flick’s attacking options before the new season.

With the Spaniard under contract until 2027 but renewal talks making little progress, questions over Ferran Torres Barcelona future have only intensified.

As reported before, PSG believe this could be the ideal moment to test Barcelona’s resolve, especially with the Catalan club facing an important decision over one of their most experienced forwards.

PSG preparing bid as Barcelona weigh future options

The PSG transfer news indicates that the French champions remain interested in signing Ferran Torres but have no intention of matching Barcelona’s valuation.

Instead, Luis Enrique’s side believes the winger’s contract situation gives them room to negotiate a lower fee.

Barcelona are asking for around €50 million, but the Ligue 1 champions are expected to submit an opening proposal closer to €40 million.

Should talks begin, the eventual offer could fall even lower, making the Barcelona asking price for Ferran Torres one of the biggest talking points of the summer window.

At the same time, it is important to note that the Blaugrana are also becoming increasingly open to a sale.

With Ferran Torres contract entering a crucial stage and no breakthrough over a renewal, Barcelona know this transfer window could represent their best opportunity to maximise his value.

Laporta addresses Ferran Torres transfer speculation

Speaking during the FIFA Club World Cup, Barcelona president Joan Laporta was asked about the growing PSG interest in Ferran Torres

While stopping short of confirming any negotiations, Laporta made it clear that the forward remains an important player for the club.

“I’ve heard something about it, but we have no confirmation. He’s a Barça player, one of the 14 players we’ve had here.

“Ferran is also doing very well; every time he comes on, he’s dangerous. He gave that pass to Merino, which was excellent.

“Anyway, we have great players here at the World Cup, and that’s why I’m here too,” he said, as per Mundo Deportivo.

Although the Barcelona president offered no fresh update on the Ferran Torres contract situation, his comments suggest the club is not rushing to make a public decision while the transfer window remains open.
