Spanish football’s leading clubs have on Thursday been put on alert.
This comes owing to developments behind the scenes at Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich.
As per a report from German transfer insider Christian Falk, the brass at Bayern have made the call to withdraw their most recent contract offer to Joshua Kimmich.
Versatile midfielder Kimmich is due to see his current terms expire in the summer, with recent weeks having pointed towards a renewal agreement as inching closer between the parties.
As alluded to above, though, the 30-year-old now looks closer than ever before to a departure from the Allianz Arena.
This comes amid confirmation that Bayern Munich have rescinded their extension offer to Kimmich.
Such news will no doubt pique attentions across the continent, with one of the game’s premiere midfield talents looking increasingly likely to be available for free in the summer.
And chief amongst them could well be Barcelona and Real Madrid, both of whom have been credited with a strong interest in Kimmich in the recent past.
