FC Barcelona are preparing for a decisive Champions League night as they welcome FC Copenhagen in the final matchday of the league phase, with qualification scenarios still hanging in the balance.

Hansi Flick will be demanding a strong response from his side in a game where intensity and attacking efficiency will be vital, especially given the absences that have weakened the midfield.

However, ahead of the encounter, Barcelona have received a timely boost with Ferran Torres being given medical clearance and included in the squad.

Ferran returns after missing the previous two matches against Slavia Prague in the Champions League and Real Oviedo in La Liga due to a minor muscle issue. The club had previously indicated that his absence would be short-term, and his recovery has progressed as planned.

Ferran rejoined full training with the group earlier this week, making his inclusion in the squad a realistic possibility heading into the Copenhagen clash.

While it is unlikely that he will feature in the starting XI, his availability significantly strengthens Flick’s attacking options from the bench in a match where goals could prove decisive.

The importance of Ferran Torres to Barcelona’s season so far cannot be overstated. The 25-year-old attacker is currently the team’s top scorer with 15 goals across all competitions, finding the net consistently in La Liga as well as contributing in the Champions League, Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup.

Barcelona will still have to cope with notable absences. Pedri remains sidelined through injury, Frenkie de Jong is unavailable due to suspension, while Joao Cancelo is not registered for this phase of the competition.

Even so, the return of Ferran Torres provides Barcelona with a much-needed lift ahead of a crucial European night at Camp Nou, as the Catalans look to secure the result required to book direct qualification to the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 and avoid the play-off round amid an already congested schedule.
