FC Barcelona approaches the second round of international fixtures with concern following Raphinha’s injury.
With the winger getting injured while playing for Brazil, Hansi Flick has been left without a key figure in a crucial stage of the season, where any absence could prove decisive in the race for La Liga and the Champions League.
Now, the Catalans are left relying on players such as Lamine Yamal and Pedri to maintain their hopes of competing for both titles.
In that context, SPORT reports that there is some concern regarding Lamine Yamal’s workload.
The La Masia winger, now a central figure in Barcelona’s attack, especially in the absence of Raphinha, played over an hour in Spain’s friendly against Serbia.
Although his previous pubic injury is now behind him and he has been performing at an excellent level, there is a desire from the club for Luis de la Fuente to avoid taking any risks with the player in Spain’s match against Egypt at the RCDE Stadium.
It is worth noting that the winger began the international camp training separately from the group, working on a stationary bicycle.

However, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has reassured Barcelona regarding the situation of Lamine. Communication between Deco and Aitor Karanka, technical and development director of the national team, is described as positive and fluid.
The RFEF’s priority is the welfare of players, as De la Fuente explained in a press conference, and it has conveyed to Barça that the minutes and workload of Lamine, as well as his teammates, will be managed carefully.
It will also help that the match against Egypt is being played in Cornella, allowing Barcelona players to avoid travel.
Lamine played 63 minutes without issues against Serbia and has trained normally since. The national team coach intends to continue distributing minutes among players.
Lamine, like all top players, always wants to be on the pitch, but in this second and final friendly of the international window, Spain’s focus remains on preparation for the upcoming World Cup, while being mindful of the stage of the season.
Naturally, all parties aim to avoid any physical setbacks.
