There has been a significant development with regard to Julian Alvarez’s future lately, with Real Madrid now entering the race to sign the Argentine forward.
Recent reports suggest Real Madrid have even made first contact with Alvarez, as they look to hijack Barça’s deal to sign the Atletico Madrid star.
The Spanish giants are ready to make a €150 million offer, which should be enough to convince Atletico Madrid, at least from an economic point of view. However, things won’t be that easy for Los Blancos.

According to El Chiringuito journalist Jose Alvarez Haya, Alvarez remains steadfast in his desire to play for Barcelona, despite the interest from Real Madrid.
It appears the Argentine has his heart set on joining Barcelona and therefore, he only wants to hear from the Catalan club.
This is a massive setback for Real Madrid, who were hoping to lure Alvarez away from Barcelona’s clutches with the promise of more money.

Barcelona, though, have their hands tied due to economic reasons. The Catalans do not have the means to meet Atletico Madrid’s price tag, an area where Real Madrid have the upper hand.
The journalist adds that Barcelona see €120 million as the maximum price that could be reasonable for Alvarez.
The Argentine’s market value is around €90 million. Therefore, the offered price will be €30 million higher, a fair compensation according to Barça.
Atletico Madrid, though, have no desire to offload their price on a cut price deal. But they are facing a tough situation, with both their rivals looking to get hold of their best player.
