The role of Alexander Isak was unquestionable as Newcastle United secured the Carabao Cup following a win over Liverpool.
Isak scored an important goal in the final and had scored three goals in the competition, thereby helping Newcastle United lift the trophy.
Isak’s overall tally for the season stands at 23 goals in just 33 competitive matches. Therefore, very few can argue why the Swede has emerged as one of Barcelona’s top attacking targets.
To that end, a recent report from Daily Mail has revealed that Barcelona scouts were in attendance in a West Ham game last week to monitor Isak.

Although Isak was not able to score a goal against West Ham, it appears Barcelona are serious about the prospect of signing the former Real Sociedad starlet.
That said, the report adds that Newcastle United have no desire to offload Alexander Isak anytime soon.
The Magpies value the player highly following his unprecedented success in the Premier League and do not want to sell him.
Newcastle’s president Yasir Al-Rumayan, in particular, is hesitant about the idea of offloading Isak and has informed the club to reject all offers for the Swedish international.
This could serve as a major blow for Barcelona. Newcastle, for their part, certainly have the leverage to keep hold of Isak and even if they do sell, the Magpies are likely to hold out for a hefty price tag.
