Barcelona set to sign teenage forward in loan-to-buy deal worth €1.5 million plus bonuses | OneFootball

In a major development, Mundo Deportivo reports that Al Ahly are close to giving the green light to FC Barcelona’s improved offer for Hamza Abdelkarim.

The teenage striker has been identified as a strategic target by the Blaugrana for the January transfer window, with the youngster expected to become a part of the Barça Atletic squad.

Negotiations have been ongoing for a while now, and it finally appears that a breakthrough has been achieved.

Improved offer set to be accepted

Indeed, the signing of Hamza Abdelkarim, who turns 18 today, is entering its final phase. The Egyptian club are close to giving definitive approval to Barcelona’s offer, after the Catalan side improved several clauses in the proposal while awaiting a final yes.

The new offer sees the Blaugrana increase the purchase option amount for the summer, after a six-month loan, from €1.25 million to €1.5 million.

Moreover, the bonuses linked to his participation at Barcelona would rise from €3 million to €5 million. It also includes an increase in the percentage of a future sale from 10 per cent to 15 per cent.

Al Ahly’s technical committee met on the last day of 2025, under the presidency of Mahmoud El Khatib, and it was reported that it was very likely that they would approve Barcelona’s offer.

Now, it appears that the green light from the Egyptian club over a January move is set to arrive soon.

Once he arrives, Abdelkarim would strengthen the attack of a Barça Atletic side that has seen both of its centre-forwards, Víctor Barbera and Oscar Gistau, suffer long-term injuries.
