Barcelona star Eric García was recently contacted by not one, but two former members of the midfield ranks at the Camp Nou, over a potential transfer to Italy.
That’s according to Relevo, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
Como, it is understood, have positioned themselves firmly in the race to land Eric before the month is out.
Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements at the back, Cesc Fàbregas considers the former Manchester City man the ideal addition to his squad.
So much so that the Como brass recently moved forward with an opening offer for Eric, worth a sum in the region of €7 million.
And following up on as much were calls from both Fàbregas, and Sergi Roberto.
As per a report from Relevo:
‘Former teammate Sergi Roberto called Eric to convince him to go to Italy. Fàbregas did the same.’
Unfortunately for both, however, the versatile defender’s current priority is to stay put in Spain, with Girona therefore considered the favourites for his signature.
