An insight into the potential incoming absence being faced up to by Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski has on Sunday been provided.
And the news will no doubt mark a major source of concern for all of a Blaugrana persuasion.
Frontman Lewandowski was of course dealt a blow on the fitness front yesterday evening.
En route to Barcelona’s comeback 4-3 La Liga downing of Celta Vigo, the Pole limped out of proceedings late on, clutching the back of his left leg.
As much was confirmed by the Catalans themselves earlier today to have come as a result of a semitendinosus injury in his left hamstring.
What was not provided, though, was any kind of detail regarding Lewandowski’s expected spell on the sidelines.
If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, though, then Barcelona can expect to be without their first-choice centre-forward for the best part of the next month.
As reported by SER, and relaid by journalist Fabrizio Romano, Lewandowski is likely to be out for around three weeks, ruling the former Bayern Munich man out of both the Copa del Rey final, and both legs of the Blaugrana’s Champions League semi-final tie with Inter Milan.
