The fallout stemming from Marc-André ter Stegen’s ongoing back-and-forth with La Liga champions Barcelona has begun to take its toll on the German’s social media accounts.

The name of goalkeeper Ter Stegen has of course returned to the very forefront of the headlines across Spain on Thursday.

This comes after official confirmation was forthcoming that the 33-year-old has been stripped of his role as captain in Barcelona’s squad.

As much comes after Ter Stegen refused to sign a medical report written up by the club regarding his expected incoming absence following a recent back surgery.

And as alluded to above, if the latest evidence on social media is anything to go by, then the Blaugrana faithful appear to be siding very much with club over player at present.
