La Liga champions Barcelona will be forced to make do without the contributions of a member of the club’s midfield ranks in their upcoming meeting with Celta Vigo.

This comes amid confirmation of Marc Bernal continuing to struggle for fitness.

Youngster Bernal is of course not long back from a long-term spell on the sidelines with an ACL injury.

Amid his ongoing efforts to recover full form and fitness, the 18-year-old was then dealt a fresh setback earlier this month.

Introduced off the bench in a La Liga clash with Atlético Madrid, Bernal lasted just 20 minutes before limping off with an ankle problem.

The hope was that the Spaniard would be cleared in time to play his part in Barca’s next outing, against Celta Vigo on Wednesday.

As alluded to above, however, this will not be the case.

Bernal remained a notable absentee from Blaugrana training at the Ciutat Esportiva on Tuesday morning.

The expectation, in turn, is that he will not be risked to face Celta.
