A somewhat forgotten member of the defensive ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona has reemerged as a transfer target on the part of Italian giants AC Milan.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who highlight Andreas Christensen as the player in question.

Stopper Christensen, for his part, is fresh off what was an altogether difficult term in Catalunya’s capital in 2024/25.

Owing to a pair of long-term injury problems, the Dane, in fact, took to the pitch in a competitive setting on just six occasions.

The latter weeks of the season saw Christensen play a more notable role, with the former Chelsea man’s solid form despite his lack of match sharpness having proven hugely encouraging from a Barcelona standpoint.

Owing to the competition for places in Hansi Flick’s squad, and his considerable wage packet, though, the expectation is that Christensen will ultimately be shipped off this summer.

And as alluded to above, eager to take advantage of this situation are one of Italian football’s leading clubs.

As per a report from Sport, after Christensen rejected a move to San Siro back in January:

‘Milan could come back to the fore and try to incorporate a player who only has one year left on his contract. Barça would try to get a sale.’
