The La Liga champions are set for a major attacking reshuffle under Hansi Flick, with club executives actively working to secure both forwards.

Gordon is scheduled to undergo his medical in Spain today after Deco swiftly concluded negotiations with the Magpies.

The 25-year-old’s versatility makes him an ideal fit for Flick’s aggressive, high-pressing system, while sporting director Deco views Rashford as an equally vital and independent part of the club’s evolving attack, particularly with veteran striker Robert Lewandowski set to depart this summer.

Rashford has spent the past season on loan at the Spotify Camp Nou, enjoying a career renaissance. Frozen out at Old Trafford by former manager Ruben Amorim, the 28-year-old rediscovered his clinical edge in La Liga, notching 14 goals and 11 assists in 49 appearances to help guide Barcelona to the league title.

Flick has already held talks with Rashford to assure him he remains a fundamental part of the club’s long-term plans.

Crucially, the forward has no desire to return to Manchester United and has reportedly instructed his representatives to discourage interest from other clubs, giving Barcelona significant leverage in negotiations.

To facilitate a permanent stay, Rashford has agreed personal terms on a revised contract with a reduced base salary.

The only remaining hurdle is the deal’s financial structure. Manchester United are holding out for the €30m (£26m) purchase option established in the original loan agreement and have ruled out another temporary switch.

Deco is currently exploring flexible payment structures, including a loan with a mandatory obligation to buy in 2027 or deferred instalments, to satisfy La Liga’s financial regulations.
