Barcelona coach Hansi Flick is facing sticky situation with regards to his defensive unit, as his team gears up for the Osasuna clash next week.
Defender Pau Cubarsi had to return early due to a knock picked up against the Netherlands, whereas Ronald Araujo will return late from the international break.
Inigo Martinez, meanwhile, is recovering from an injury he picked up earlier in the month. The veteran defender was selected for national team duty but had to withdraw. He has trying to recover from his knock since.
A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has offered an update on Martinez’s fitness and recovery heading into the Osasuna game.
The report suggests the veteran is looking to speed up his recovery process in order to return in time for the Osasuna clash.

It must be remembered that Martinez was treated immediately upon his return from the Atletico Madrid game. Hence, it is fair to say that he had a bit of a headstart in his recovery process.
The report goes on to suggest that Martinez is no longer ruled out for the Osasuna game as previously thought.
This could serve as a massive boost for Barcelona and coach Hansi Flick. As mentioned earlier, the German is dealing with a peculiar situation in defence and Martinez’s return, to that end, could give him the defensive option he needs.
That said, Barcelona must also make an informed decision on whether or not they should rush Martinez back into action, knowing they cannot afford the defender to aggravate his injury.
