An up-and-coming member of the midfield ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona is closing on an imminent departure from the club.
This comes amid the understanding that Brian Fariñas is all set to put pen to paper on terms with Barca’s Catalan rivals, Girona.
Youngster Fariñas, for his part, is a 20-year-old midfielder, who has been plying his trade in Blaugrana colours since all the way back in 2018.
The Spaniard spent last season lining out for Barca Atlètic, impressing en route to five goals and seven assists across 33 league appearances.
Aware of the challenges facing him in carving out a place in Hansi Flick’s first-team setup, however, Fariñas has been increasingly linked with a move away from Barcelona for several weeks now.
And as alluded to above, this weekend, such a transfer looks closer than ever to coming to fruition.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:
‘FC Barcelona and Girona are finalizing the transfer of Brian Fariñas to Montilivi. The move is imminent, even a matter of hours.’
The Camp Nou brass are understood to have green-lighted the sale for a fee in the region of €1.5 million, for 50% of Fariñas’ player rights.
