Pau Cubarsi’s nasty knock against Red Star this midweek led to multiple stitches for the young defenders, which led to fears among Barcelona fans and coaches alike.
Although barring stitches, Cubarsi’s knock was not that serious, there were uncertainties regarding his availability for the next against Real Sociedad.
However, everything suggests Cubarsi will be fit for the Sociedad game, with the player himself keen on returning to the pitch.
Interestingly, a recent report from MARCA reiterates the fact that Cubarsi is determined to play against Real Sociedad on Sunday.
However, as per the report, coach Hansi Flick is strictly refusing to play the young defender this weekend. It appears the German head coach wants to avoid taking any risks with the health of Cubarsi.

Flick seeks to approach the Sociedad game with utmost caution for the defender so that the stitches do not open up.
However, not playing Cubarsi will force Flick to find alternative solutions. Unfortunately, he has limited options in defence right now, especially with Ronald Araujo, Eric Garcia, and Andreas Christensen out injured.
With Jules Kounde also operating as a right-back these days, Flick’s only option will be to start Sergi Dominguez against Real Sociedad.
Dominguez is regarded as one of the more talented defenders coming out of La Masia. The youngster has already made five competitive appearances this season and is an able alternative for Cubarsi.
That said, another option could be Kounde starting at centre-back, with Hector Fort operating in the wider defensive role.
