Barcelona youth sensation called up for World Cup | OneFootball

Barcelona winter signing Hamza Abdelkarim has this week been rewarded for his ongoing excellence at club level.

This comes by way of an official call-up for the 2026 World Cup.

Youngster Abdelkarim for his part linked up with Barcelona during the January transfer window, on a short-term loan deal from Al Ahly.

And the 18-year-old, long considered a star in the making in his home country of Egypt, has since gone on to impress in Blaugrana colours.

Lining out for the club’s U19s, after a frustrating spell awaiting registration, Abdelkarim has found the net six times in eight league appearances.

His Camp Nou switch is therefore expected to be made permanent in the summer.

And as alluded to above, the young frontman’s endeavours in Spain have not gone at all unrecognised in his native Egypt…

As confirmed across social media on Thursday, Abdelkarim has been included in Egypt’s final squad for the upcoming World Cup.
