Bastoni ‘to push through’ Barcelona summer move if bid is right | OneFootball

Barcelona have set Alessandro Bastoni and Julian Alvarez as priority targets this summer, with centre-back and striker the focus. Progress is mixed, with a move for Bastoni looking likelier than Alvarez, whose prospects are dimmed by Atleti’s stubborn stance on a sale. Deco has been tasked with landing both.

Inter are prepared to sell Bastoni if an acceptable offer arrives, and the defender is determined to join Hansi Flick’s side at the Spotify Camp Nou. MD reports that he plans to exhaust all avenues to make what he considers a dream move next season.

Personal terms are not yet agreed, though Bastoni is ready to settle them when required. He wants Inter and Barcelona to reach an accord as soon as possible, aiming to have his future resolved by early July.

He feels this is the right moment to leave Italy after criticism for his red card in the Azzurri’s crucial World Cup qualifier defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina last week. Bastoni is excited by Barcelona’s young core, including Lamine Yamal, whom he praised last season.

Barcelona hope to structure an Inter deal that still leaves room to fund a new striker and address other needs in Flick’s squad. Bastoni thinks talks are best held now, believing his price will only increase over time.

It is unclear when Barcelona will formalise their move, though the expectation is that one will definitely come.
