Bastoni will not speak to investigators, Calafiori interview tomorrow in escort scandal | OneFootball

Alessandro Bastoni will not speak to investigators for the probe into an escort service and potential underage prostitution, but Arsenal’s Riccardo Calafiori should be interviewed tomorrow.

The investigation is into a company that organised ‘all-inclusive’ events in the Milan area, including entertainment, dining and at times also escorts.

This is not per se illegal, but Inter defender Bastoni was formally placed under investigation because a girl he allegedly had relations with was 17 years and eight months old at the time in 2020, when the player was 21.

Both the player and the girl have denied they had relations, let alone with money exchanged.

Bastoni was meant to attend an interview with the prosecutors in Milan tomorrow, but his lawyer Salvatore Scuto has now confirmed to news agency ANSA that he will not be attending.

This is entirely within his rights, an Italian version of the American ‘Pleading the Fifth.’

However, other players have been called in to speak as witnesses and are not under formal investigation.

Lazio midfielder Daniel Maldini and former Bologna defender Kevin Bonifazi were both interviewed today, and it is reported that Arsenal defender Calafiori will be there for his interview on Friday.
