SC Freiburg started boldly and even made Bayern Munich look shaky early on. But after racing into a 2-0 lead in under 20 minutes, the visitors ultimately paid the price, succumbing 6-2 at the Allianz Arena, with Michael Olise putting on a masterclass.
Bayern remain dominant at the top of the Bundesliga, collecting 31 points from 33, while Freiburg linger mid-table with 13 points.
Freiburg stunned the hosts with a blistering start. Capitalising on set pieces, they raced into a two-goal lead inside 17 minutes.
In the 12th minute, Ginter cleverly flicked on a low corner for Suzuki to tap in. Five minutes later, Manzambi lobbed Neuer with a perfectly timed shot, leaving the Bayern keeper helpless.
Shaken, Bayern regrouped through individual brilliance. Midway the first half, Olise weaved past the defence and set up Karl, who finished neatly to halve the deficit. Normality returned before half-time when Olise and Karl combined again, with Olise netting the equaliser.
After the break, Bayern’s superiority became clear. Ten minutes in, Olise delivered a corner for Upamecano to head home, giving the hosts a 3-2 lead. Harry Kane then added a fourth, tapping in a left-foot finish from Pavlovic’s cross.
Olise continued his dazzling performance. With 12 minutes remaining, he threaded a pass to substitute Nicolas Jackson for the fifth before cutting in from the right to score himself, completing Bayern’s 6-2 demolition.
