The future of Alphonso Davies at Bayern Munich, a summer transfer target for Real Madrid, continues to take fresh twists and turns.
Over the past week, it was suggested that the Canadian international was closing in on a contract renewal with the Bavarian giants.
However, on Thursday, reports emerged claiming that the 24-year-old left-back had rejected the Bundesliga giants’ final contract offer after prolonged negotiations.
The situation has given Real Madrid great optimism about their chances of signing Davies, with a meeting with his agent scheduled for the near future.
Amidst all this, Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has spoken out on the situation surrounding Davies and his future.

The Bayern executive insisted that talks were proceeding between the two parties but hinted that his patience might be running out with the negotiations getting dragged out.
“Patience is not one of my qualities. The talks are good and open, discussions are part of that. It’s legitimate,” said Eberl, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
“We’ll continue to try to make the best decision. The talks are still ongoing.”
Real Madrid have been working hard on securing Davies’ services on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season.
With still no agreement reached between Bayern and their star defender and the club director’s patience seemingly wearing thin, Los Blancos have a good chance of landing their man.
The upcoming meeting between Real Madrid and Davies’ agent will be crucial to deciding how this saga unfolds.
